Normally I use this space and place to post parts of a new slip-fiction novel series I am working on, Left Brain Right, the story of a young girl who hears voices.  But over the past few days, I could tell I was hitting a bit of a writer’s block.  Sure I have the overall story in my head,a whole series in fact.  But unless I take it from out of my head and imagination, I will not be able to clearly see the map in front of me each day as I write.  So, I spent some time, over the past few days, story forming the whole series as well as this particular novel I am writing.  And below is a picture of what the birth of a novel looks like.  Yes, it is almost as messy a real birth. But that’s what writers do, and what everyday individuals can learn from them.  We must take very messy situations and organize them, and clean them, and prune them until they are a beautiful work of art to be admired.  And over the last few days I realized that a goal without a target misses the mark every time. So now, I’ve created a map for myself to help guide the process of writing along so that it hits its target.
