Note to reader: I am using this space and place to post parts of a new slip-fiction novel series I am working on, Left Brain Right, the story of a young girl who hears voices. I will not be posting the whole story, but I will be posting practical tips when dealing with someone, or one’s own self, as they are going through traumatic, or not so traumatic, experiences.

Today’s Story Excerpt: (Left Side)

August 20th: Kiri’s Thoughts:

I got her tea ready and put a piece of zucchini bread onto a small plate. I then collect the exact change that she always brought in, one dollar and twenty five cents. Then watched her walk to her favorite two-seater table in the corner right next to the window.

Sometimes I wondered if the sounds of chatter and clanging dishes and the constant hiss of the espresso machines ever got to her because she often put in her ear buds and seemed to turn the whole world out.
