Tip 3: Learn to Let Go.

I have been writing
a book for three years.
I’m in revision
number four.

I thought revision
number three was done,
until this morning,

it could be better:
character clarified,
conflict solidified,
theme found throughout,

distinctive voice,
a consistent pattern,
so much more focused,
clear and concise.

Authors get wed to
thoughts, words, and ideas
they’ve spent too much time
in creating.

Like any close ties,
it’s hard to let go,
but in doing so,
more beauty found.
