Meet Michelle. A twelve-year-old girl who experiences visual and auditory hallucinations after experiencing a set a traumas. How she sees herself, compared to how others see her.

Day Two: Right
Michelle’s Siblings

Golden, emerald greens,
splashes of color,
surrounded Michelle
in her garden.

Earth covers and sticks
to small child-like hands
as she went to plant
precious, small dill seeds.

Deep into the earth,
which released sweet smells,
calming her spirit
playful and sweet.

Up in the distance
two figures are seen
gliding up towards her
peaceful, serene.

Light emanating
from behind them both.
Warm and gentle as
life-giving sun.

Closer into view
long, golden red hair,
and deep, sincere eyes
soon recognized.

“Thena, my sister!”
Michelle jumped and cried
and ran on bare feet
to go meet her.

Milky-white arms wrapped
around a small frame
slippery, cool silk
touches her skin.

A pull-back does show
slight, soft, pink smile
and grey eyes reveal
Michelle is home.

Looking to her left
she also does see
a kind, older male,
a brother figure.

Blue eyes gaze at her
under neatly trimmed
brown curls of a beard
framed by brown locks.

Curls cascade down to
his large, broad shoulders
he smiles and says,
“you’ve forgotten.”
